In a meaningful effort to preserve its partnership with Ateneo de Davao University, the Xavier Learning Community in Thailand invited the Ateneo Internationalization for Mindanao Office to revitalize its collaboration through a formal signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) in Thailand. This time, under its newfound status as Saengtham College Xavier Campus (“Xavier”). 

The visit to Thailand was also a significant opportunity for dialogue and collaboration with the main campus of Saengtham College Thailand in the Sampran District. Saengtham College was cordial in their reception, with key academic heads in attendance, including the Rector himself, Rev. Fr. Theeraphol Kobvithayakul.

During the formal signing of the MOU, both parties expressed their shared commitment to fostering educational and cultural exchange between Saengtham College Xavier Campus and Ateneo de Davao University. 

The document outlines a framework for joint academic initiatives, faculty and student exchanges, research collaborations, and the development of innovative programs that capitalize on the strengths of both institutions. The dialogue held with Saengtham College Thailand proved to be a platform for exploring potential areas of mutual growth. The academic leaders from both campuses led constructive discussions on academic exchange, language studies, and community engagement projects.

Saengtham College stands as a private educational institution situated in Sampran, Nakhon Pathom, Thailand. Its inception traces back to 1975, attributed to the initiative of the Diocese of Bangkok. The college offers undergraduate degrees spanning education, theology, and social work. The college’s mission is to “provide quality education for all, regardless of their background or financial situation.” The college’s vision is to be “a leading institution of higher education in Thailand that is committed to social justice and human development.”

Saengtham College is accredited by the Association of Christian Schools International (ACSI). The college is also a member of the Association of Southeast Asian Catholic Colleges and Universities (ASEACCU).
