Last 21 October 2022, the Ateneo de Davao University (ADDU) through the Ateneo Internationalization for Mindanao (AIM) Office participated in the 2022 EduCanada Pathways to Partnership Session held in Grand Hyatt BGC, Taguig City.

The EduCanada pathways to partnership session provided opportunities for Higher Education Institutions (HEIs) to explore potential engagements with Canadian HEIs and pursue deeper collaborations that may steer cross-border partnerships. The event had at least two hundred attendees, composed of delegates from various Philippine HEIs, business agencies, and representatives from Canadian institutions. The AIM Office was represented by one of its Program Officers, Ms. Gillian Marie Porras.

Ms. Angel Cachuela, the Trade Commissioner on Education, Agriculture, and Agri-Food Commodities of the Embassy of Canada to the Philippines, opened the event and presented an overview of Canada’s higher education sector. This was followed by presentations that aligned Internationalization with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals by esteemed guest speakers from Canada who joined via video conference.

The event also included a showcase of EduCanada’s recent milestones as well as the successes of their mobility programs for higher education. Furthermore, the event served as an effective avenue for exploring partnerships and linkages among participating HEIs.

The Ateneo de Davao University congratulates the Embassy of Canada to the Philippines for a successful and meaningful initiative.
