The Ateneo de Davao University (ADDU) participated in the historic launch of the Consortium for Study Abroad in the Philippines (CSAP) on 24 March 2026, in partnership with the Philippine-American Educational Foundation (PAEF), also known as the Fulbright Commission in the Philippines.
Representing ADDU at the event were Fr. Antonio M. Basilio, SJ, Vice President for Higher Education; Mr. Romulo Vinci R. Bueza, Executive Assistant to the President and Director of the Ateneo Internationalization for Mindanao (AIM) Office; and Ms. Lyd Ejira C. Ducusin, AIM Assistant Director.
The launch of CSAP marks a significant milestone in strengthening academic collaboration between Philippine higher education institutions and universities in the United States. Administered by PAEF, the consortium serves as a central platform to facilitate study abroad programs, enabling U.S. students and faculty to engage in academic and cultural immersion experiences in the Philippines.
Through CSAP, participating institutions gain access to coordinated program development, shared resources, and centralized support systems designed to ensure quality, safety, and alignment with international academic standards. The initiative also aims to deepen cross-cultural understanding and expand institutional linkages between the Philippines and the United States.
PAEF, a binational organization established to administer educational exchanges such as the Fulbright Program, has long played a central role in advancing academic cooperation between the two countries.
ADDU’s participation in the launch builds on its existing partnership with PAEF, which includes collaboration in faculty and student exchanges, joint academic initiatives, and engagement in internationalization efforts through programs such as CSAP.
The University’s presence at the launch reflects its ongoing efforts to position Mindanao as a viable and meaningful destination for international academic engagement. Through initiatives led by the Ateneo Internationalization for Mindanao Office, ADDU continues to contribute to expanding opportunities for global learning, research collaboration, and intercultural exchange.
