The Ateneo de Davao University (ADDU) joined Jesuit higher education leaders from across the Asia Pacific region at the Association of Jesuit Colleges and Universities in Asia Pacific (AJCU-AP) CEOs Meeting 2025, held from 24 to 27 August 2025 in Hiroshima City, Japan.

Representing ADDU were Fr. Antonio M. Basilio, SJ, Vice President for Higher Education, and Mr. Romulo Vinci R. Bueza, Executive Assistant to the President and Director of the Ateneo Internationalization for Mindanao Office. Mr. Bueza presented ADDU’s work on Collaborative Online International Learning (COIL), contributing to the exchange of innovative practices in global engagement among Jesuit institutions.

Through its active participation, ADDU aligned itself with AJCU-AP’s broader agenda, including strengthening programs in service-learning, integral ecology, mental health, democracy, and artificial intelligence, promoting collaborative initiatives, and addressing pressing regional and global challenges.

This year’s CEOs meeting focused on discerning foresight, a method that integrates strategic foresight with Ignatian discernment, enabling institutions to navigate uncertainty with wisdom, courage, and a commitment to justice. Beyond formal sessions, participants engaged in liturgical celebrations, cultural immersions, and institutional updates that reinforced solidarity across Jesuit schools.

The event supported AJCU-AP’s continued mission: to advance Jesuit higher education in Asia Pacific—a commitment to which ADDU remains fully dedicated.
