In support of University’s strategic internationalization and to advance mutual interests in teaching, research, and international collaboration, Tamkang University (TKU), Taiwan, and Ateneo de Davao University (ADDU) have formalized its partnership by signing a Memorandum of Agreement for Student Exchange and an Academic Cooperation Agreement on 19 February 2025. This partnership includes faculty and student exchanges, as well as collaborative research and publications. Representing the two institutions at the signing ceremony were Fr. Karel S. San Juan, SJ, ADDU President, and Dr. Huan-Chao Keh, TKU President. They were joined by Fr. Antonio M. Basilio, SJ, ADDU Vice President for Higher Education; Dr. Randell U. Espina, School of Engineering and Architecture (SEA) Dean; and Dr. Renyl B. Barroca, SEA Assistant Dean.

Complementing the ceremonial event, an academic exchange took place on 3 March 2025 at the Training Room, 8/F Xavier Hall, Community Center of the First Companions, Ateneo de Davao University. Visiting professors from TKU’s Physics Department, Prof. Cheng-Hao Chuang, Prof. Ping-Hung Yeh, and Prof. Chung-Li Dong, delivered a university lecture entitled “Introducing Research from the Physics Department, Tamkang University, New Taipei City: Towards Appropriating Advanced Materials in the Mindanao Context.”

The lecture invited students and faculty from ADDU’s SEA, allowing them to engage directly with leading experts and gain critical insights into advanced materials research relevant to Mindanao’s distinctive context. Participants hailed the session as enriching, noting the exceptional contributions and expertise of the visiting professors toward the advancement of physics research.
