Ateneo de Davao University marked a meaningful day of harmony, intercultural dialogue, and international collaboration as it hosted two significant events: the Aspire Concert and the AISSO-MIFO Cross-Cultural Exchange Program on 22 March 2025.
Aspire Concert: A Celebration of Healing through Music
The Aspire Group, in partnership with the Mindanao Children’s Library (MCL), the Ateneo International Studies Students Organization (AISSO), and the Ateneo Internationalization for Mindanao (AIM) Office, hosted the Aspire Concert at the Junior High School Amphitheater, Ateneo de Davao University – Matina Campus.
The Aspire Group, composed of teachers and students from a music class in Tokyo, Japan, organizes choir concerts to bring healing, courage, and hope during challenging times. The concert was made even more special with the participation of our friends from MCL in Kidapawan, which has long supported children across Mindanao and continues to inspire hope and resilience.
This whole-day event was a celebration of intercultural dialogue and meaningful encounters where music bridged cultures.

“Ohayou, Ateneo!”: AISSO-MIFO Cross-Cultural Exchange Program
Parallel to the musical celebration, another enriching engagement unfolded through “Ohayou, Ateneo!”, a cultural exchange program jointly organized by AISSO, the Meiji International Friendship Organization (MIFO) from Meiji University, Japan.
This program facilitated engaging interactions between Japanese and Filipino students, centering on conversations about academic life, personal aspirations, and perspectives on Filipino society. A shared onigiri lunch offered a light yet meaningful space for connection, where stories, laughter, and cultural understanding were exchanged.
