The Association of Jesuit Colleges and Universities in Asia Pacific (AJCU-AP) International Networking Officers (INO) held its annual meeting from 28 to 30 November 2024 at Fu Jen Catholic University, Taiwan. Representatives from various member institutions gathered to discuss key projects and innovative programs aimed at strengthening collaboration and advancing Jesuit higher education across the region.
Some of the discussions highlighted the Service-Learning Program (SLP) 2025, set to be hosted by Ateneo de Naga University (ADNU) as presented by Ms. Joanaviva Plopenio, and the General Leadership Program (GLP) 2025, introduced by Ms. Maki Nakano and Dr. Naoki Umemiya from Sophia University. Mr. Glenn de Leon from Ateneo de Manila University also provided updates on the AJCU-AP Nominations for the Canisius Medal and the 2025 CEO Meeting in Hiroshima.
During the afternoon session, various AJCU-AP initiatives were also discussed. Among these, Mr. Romulo Vinci R. Bueza, Director of the Ateneo Internationalization for Mindanao Office and official representative of Ateneo de Davao University, shared updates on the pilot implementation of Collaborative Online International Learning (COIL). Other initiatives included Magis Microcredentials, presented by Fr. Johnny Go, and updates from the Democracy and Human Rights Task Force, delivered by Mr. Glenn de Leon. Ms. Cristina Alikpala, AJCU-AP coordinator, provided updates on the upcoming 2025 IAJU General Assembly in Bogotá. Members also discussed plans for the 2025 AJCU-AP INO Meeting and shared updates from their respective institutions.
