To give voice to the displaced individuals during the Young ASEAN Leaders Policy Initiative, Ateneo, once again, stands out and proves to be competitive in the international scene. Mx. Sheref Weal Moursi, a second-year AB Economics student at Ateneo de Davao University, partakes in Young ASEAN Leaders Policy on February 5 to 10 at Chulalongkorn University, Bangkok, Thailand.

During the event, Weal Moursi bagged the Entrepreneurial and Innovative Award as part of the Integration of the Displaced Team B, which won as the best working team for crafting a policy recommendation throughout the event.

“The event proper was a surreal experience wherein the delegates experienced networking with delegates from the ASEAN and beyond; we have immersed ourselves in conferences and dialogues with speakers and representatives from the government of the host country, the locality, and the Deputy Prime Minister of Luxembourg.” Weal Moursi said.

The event’s theme, “Beyond a post-COVID-19 ASEAN Recovery: Towards the Sustainable Urban Future,” explores the perspective of the youth in pursuing a framework for green urbanism and integration of the displaced. It was attended by a total of 48 delegates, with thousands of applicants from and beyond the ASEAN.
