The Ateneo de Davao University, through its Ateneo Internationalization for Mindanao (AIM) Office and Arrupe Office of Social Formation (AOSF), and the University Mobility in Asia and the Pacific (UMAP), welcome participants from all over Asia to the Discovery Camp with the service learning framework entitled: Gonô Bong Tëkuy: Our Common Home, Our Common Humanity (Meaningful Mindanawon Encounters in Service-Learning).

The Discovery Camp was officially started with messages given by Mr. Vinci R. Bueza, Director of the Ateneo Internationalization for Mindanao (AIM) Office, and Ms. Chelsey Laird, Director of the University Mobility in Asia and the Pacific – UMAP International Secretariat (Vancouver Community College).
To introduce service-learning as the framework of the program, we had Mr. Dyester G. Abo-Abo, Service Learning Program Coordinator of the Arrupe Office of Social Formation (AOSF). He presented service-learning as a pedagogy, formative experience, and response to social issues. In addition, Ms. Lyd Ejira C. Ducusin, Program Development and Marketing Specialist of the AIM Office, discussed the program overview and details.
The orientation was also attended by our companions and formators from the AOSF and representatives from the participating academic institutions.
To formally end our orientation, Ms. Agnes J. Sagaral, Director of the AOSF, gave an inspiring message to the participants.
This Discovery Camp marks the fourth iteration of the International Electronic Service-Learning Program conducted by the Ateneo de Davao University (ADDU). It is a 4-week global experiential learning program that provides a virtual space for holistic formation through intercultural dialogue and meaningful transnational encounters with our partner communities here in Mindanao.
Gonô Bong Tëkuy is brought to you by the University Mobility in Asia and the Pacific – UMAP and Ateneo de Davao University through its AIM Office and AOSF.
The program is with specific emphasis on the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (UN SDGs) for Quality Education (4), Climate Action (13), and for Peace, Justice, and Strong Institutions (16).
