On 14-16 and 16-18 November 2025, the Confucius Institute at the Ateneo de Davao University (CI-ADDU) participated in the 2025 World Chinese Language Conference and the Joint Council Meeting of Confucius Institutes (Classrooms) co-established by Huaqiao University (HQU) in Beijing, China.

Hosted by the Ministry of Education of the People’s Republic of China and co-organized by the Chinese International Foundation, Center for Language Education and Cooperation, and the International Society of Chinese Language Teaching, the 2025 World Chinese Language Conference gathered universities and colleges worldwide that offer curricular Chinese language courses across disciplines. Bearing the theme, “Innovation Leads, AI Empowers: Learning Chinese Without Borders,” the conference aimed to collaboratively promote Sino-foreign language and cultural exchanges, educational cooperation, and mutual learning among civilizations and showcase how technology is changing Chinese education globally.

Subsequently, CI-ADDU attended the Board Meeting of CI-ADDU and Huaqiao University and Joint Council Meeting of Confucius Institutes (Classrooms) co-established by Huaqiao University (HQU). In his speech, HQU President, Wu Jianping, emphasized that HQU hopes to “continue to deepen cooperation between the two universities, promote academic exchanges between experts and scholars in language, culture, and other areas of common concern, learn from each other, and share results.”

Representing the University were Mr. Jimmy E. Delgado, CPA, Vice President for Finance and Treasurer; Dr. Jenner Y. Chan, Director of the Ateneo de Davao Academy of Lifelong Learning (ADD-ALL); Dr. Nelly Z. Limbadan, Dean of the School of Arts and Sciences; and Dr. Maricar Gay V. Panda, English Director of the CI-ADDU.
