The Ateneo de Davao University School of Nursing, represented by Dean Dr. Liza G. Floresca, Level 1 and 2 Head Dinna Rose Bayog, and faculty member Mary Hazel Facundo, proudly participated in the inaugural Asian Standardized Patient Educator Collaborative (AsiaSPEC) International Conference held at Kinjo Gakuin University in Nagoya, Japan, from 25 to 27 April 2025.
The conference brought together leading educators and institutions across Asia committed to advancing simulation-based learning in health professions education. The School of Nursing was honored to be the sole nursing school representative from the Philippines at this prestigious gathering.
The event focused on the use of Standardized Patients (SPs)—trained individuals who simulate real-life clinical scenarios—to enhance nursing students’ competencies in clinical reasoning, communication, and care planning within a safe and structured learning environment. Through its participation, the AdDU School of Nursing reaffirms its commitment to global best practices and to preparing future nurses with the skills needed for compassionate, competent, and patient-centered care.
