The Ateneo de Davao University’s Theology Department hosted its hybrid second Annual Theological Conversation on 01 December 2022 at the Bapa Benny Tudtud Auditorium and via Zoom video conference.

This year’s esteemed speaker is Dr. David J. Kendall of La Sierra University, Riverdale, California, USA. Dr. Kendall is a specialist in musicology with extensive experience and research on music and history. Dr. Kendall was able to talk about his research on “Musica Sacra: Liturgical Music during the Spanish and American Colonial Eras through an Archival Lens.”

The lead discussant was also joined by  Dr. Ma. Alexandra Chua, Professor of Musicology, UST Conservatory of Music, and Dr. Ma. Patricia Brillantes Silvestre, Chair of the Department of Musicology, University of the Philippines Diliman, as the expert panelists.

The Annual Theological Conversation is the main academic public platform designed by the Theology Department to give scholars an opportunity to present their research and share their experiences that meaningfully contribute to the life and mission of the Church and society, in general. It is also a platform where both multidisciplinary and interdisciplinary discourses are privileged from the lens of theological and/or ecclesial articulation or perspective.
