Last 4 November 2022, one of the Ateneo de Davao University undergraduate students, Mr. Emmanuel D. Baltazar II (BS Entrepreneurship, 3rd Year) was given the opportunity to visit the Singapore University of Social Sciences (SUSS) under the continued mentorship of Mr. Kenneth Yap Ying Loong (叶楹隆, Deputy Head of the SUSS Office of Entrepreneurship.
Mr. Baltazar was one of the finalists of the recently concluded ASEAN-China Impact Startup Challenge (CDO303ACI) last July 2022. The brief study visit was made possible through the mentorship formulated during said international competition.
They hosted Mr. Baltazar over at the SUSS campus at Clementi Road, Singapore. The student was shown around the entrepreneurship incubation workspace and offices. Mr. Baltazar was also invited to observe a business pitching event wherein venture capitalists and investors evaluated SUSS students’ business plans and start-up ideas. It was a demonstration of how businesses are realized with earned capital and streamlined networking. The visit was an extension of what has been started during the July Impact Startup Challenge and has bolstered the streams of mentorship and networking available to students in light of the meaningful partnership between the Singapore University of Social Sciences and Ateneo de Davao University.
