On 24 July 2023, Ateneo de Davao University (ADDU) hosted the annual General Assembly of the Davao Colleges and Universities Network, Inc. (DACUN). The event convened esteemed academic leaders, educators, and stakeholders from member institutions to deliberate on higher education’s future in the region.
Notable guests included Prof. Vicente Antonio V. Pijano, DACUN President, who presented a comprehensive report highlighting the network’s achievements and future plans. The assembly’s keynote address was delivered by Hon. Pilar C. Braga, Ph.D., Davao City Councilor of District I.
In her speech, Hon. Braga underscored collaboration’s pivotal role in driving educational progress and fostering innovation.
Hon. Braga also facilitated the induction of the New Board of Trustees and DACUN Committee Officers, symbolizing a fresh leadership phase for the network. The event centered on the theme “Collaborative DACUN – Empowering Quality Education and Innovation in Davao City,” reflecting the attendees’ commitment to cooperative efforts and educational advancement.
This assembly celebrated accomplishments and kindled a collective determination to elevate educational standards and drive change in Davao City. The DACUN General Assembly 2023 demonstrated the potency of collaboration in propelling education and innovation in the city and beyond.
