IMMIGRATION PROCESS AND REQUIREMENTS

This part of the application process is only applicable to international students (or foreign nationals who are enrolled in the Ateneo de Davao University) who are physically present and are currently residing in the Philippines. If you are a foreign national living abroad, this section does NOT apply to you.

However, we urge our international students to declare their arrival or (for pre-arrival) their intention to come and stay in the Philippines. Communicate your travel plans to the Ateneo Internationalization for Mindanao (AIM) Office. This way the AIM Office can guide international students accordingly in terms of immigration and visa protocols.

The international student (qualified foreign national residing in the Philippines) receives an official confirmation email (see step 1 of the admission process) from the Ateneo de Davao, declaring his/her admitted status; the student must immediately send an email to the Ateneo Internationalization for Mindanao (AIM) Office (international@addu.edu.ph) requesting to file for their visa application. This must be done immediately after receiving the confirmation email.

The AIM Office’s Process Coordinator is an authorized representative by the Bureau of Immigration (BI). The AIM Process Coordinator is in charge of filing and processing all Student Visa Conversion/Extension and Special Study Permit (SSP) applications.

Note:

Again, enrolled international students currently residing in their home countries are not required to apply for a student visa. A visa is only needed if the applicant is physically present and pursuing his or her education here in the Philippines.
