The Ateneo de Davao University Center (ADDU) for Renewable Energy and Appropriate Technologies (CREATE) Director, Engr. Nelson H. Enano, Jr., was invited as one of the esteemed speakers to the Universitas Islam Bandung (UNISBA) Global Engagement Colloquium (GEC) 2022. Engr. Enano\u2019s talk was entitled <\/span>“Renewable Energy and Sustainable Development Goals 2030: Status, Challenges, and Opportunities in ASEAN”.\u00a0<\/span><\/i>The event was held last 31 August 2022 at the\u00a0<\/span>Hj. Kartimi Kridhoharsojo Building, Universitas Islam Banding, Bandung City, Indonesia.<\/span><\/p>\n “Honestly, I was ecstatic to share about renewable energy and link it to sustainable development goals and the targets by 2030, especially emphasizing where we are now, the challenges and opportunities to realizing renewable energy for human development,” Engr. Enano said.<\/span><\/p>\n “I intentionally would like to be strategic in my delivery of the content so I would send the message of sustainability and care for the environment in our energy production in the clearest terms possible, especially to an audience from a coal-producing country such as Indonesia,” he added.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n <\/span><\/p>\n The UNISBA GEC 2022 is an annual event organized by the UNISBA International Office. This year, its theme is <\/span>\u201cSustainable Development Goals: Theory and Implementation,\u201d<\/i><\/b> which caters to one of the United Nations\u2019 goals to build a prosperous, democratic, and equitable world.<\/span><\/p>\n Through this engagement, ADDU-CREATE was able to link with a potential collaborative research project on bio-energy and\u00a0biomass gasification which both the Deans from the ADDU’s School of Engineering and Architecture (SEA) and UNISBA’s Faculty of Engineering are interested in.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n “We are looking forward to support projects on bio energy so we can lead it to the level of commercialization which is hoped to assist the development of our rural communities,” Engr. Enano remarked.<\/span><\/p>\n Aside from ADDU, the invited universities for the event were Chulalongkorn University (CU), Bangkok, Thailand; Universiti Teknologi MARA (UITM), Shah Alam, Malaysia; Sultan Sharif Ali Islamic University (UNISSA), Brunei Darussalam; University of Malaya, Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia; and Gazi University, Ankara, Turkey.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n This activity aims to initiate, strengthen, and build good long-term relationships as well as share expertise, knowledge, and resources to develop a collaborative process between institutions based on the principles of equality and reciprocity, following the Ministry of Education, Culture, Research, and Technology of the Republic of Indonesia regarding the Merdeka Campus Program.<\/span><\/p>\n <\/p>\n [\/et_pb_text][\/et_pb_column][\/et_pb_row][\/et_pb_section]<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":" The Ateneo de Davao University Center (ADDU) for Renewable Energy and Appropriate Technologies (CREATE) Director, Engr.
