The Ateneo de Davao University (ADDU) engaged members of its community through the Workshop on the Formulation of the University Partnerships Framework: Designing ADDU\u2019s Partnership System under Fortiores<\/em> 2030, held on 15 May 2026 at the 11\/F Calungsod-San Vitores Jesuit-Lay Collaboration Center.<\/p>\n As the University continues to advance its strategic plan, Fortiores<\/em> 2030, partnerships are understood not as isolated agreements but as pathways that deepen academic work, formation, research, and community engagement.<\/p>\n The whole-day workshop gathered administrators, faculty, staff, and student representatives to examine the University\u2019s current partnership landscape and identify pathways toward a more strategic, sustainable, and mission-aligned partnership system and framework.<\/p>\n Through reflective and participatory sessions, participants also looked into how the University enters, manages, sustains, and concludes its institutional partnerships. The sessions moved from a broad mapping of the current partnership portfolio to an identification of systemic gaps, design criteria, governance structures, and shared values that will guide future partnership engagement across the University.<\/p>\n Participants surfaced concerns related to coordination, documentation, access, continuity, and sustainability. Among the key observations raised were the need for a centralized partnership repository, clearer partnership definitions, stronger monitoring mechanisms, and better systems for ensuring that partnerships do not depend on a single champion or office.<\/p>\n The workshop also highlighted the importance of student access and equity in partnership programs. Student representatives shared concerns on academic accommodations, uneven access to international opportunities, financial barriers, and the need to involve students more meaningfully in the planning and direction of partnership engagements.<\/p>\n As part of the framework development process, participants proposed several institutional directions, including the development of standardized templates for MOAs, MOUs, monitoring reports, and sunset documentation; the creation of clearer classifications for active, inactive, dormant, and concluded partnerships; the establishment of succession and turnover protocols; and the adoption of a tiered partnership classification system aligned with Fortiores<\/em> 2030.<\/p>\n The final session invited participants to articulate what ADDU affirms and what it does not accept in the context of partnerships. The groups affirmed impactful, enabling, sustainable, mutually beneficial, Fortiores<\/em>-driven, mission-driven, and relational partnerships.
