This year\u2019s summit was themed \u201cShifting Landscapes, Collaborative Solutions: Pioneering Innovation in Asia Pacific Higher Education,\u201d with the Macau University of Science and Technology serving as the host institution.<\/p>\n
Dr. Melba L. Manapol, Director of the Office of Strategic Management and Quality Assurance, represented the university at the summit. As part of the Philippine delegation organized by CHED, ADDU joined other selected Philippine Higher Education Institutions (HEIs) to showcase their academic programs and initiatives.<\/p>\n
The QS Higher Ed Summit: Asia Pacific marked its 20th anniversary in 2024, further solidifying its role as a key platform for higher education leaders. With over 2,000 attendees from universities and government institutions across the Asia Pacific region, the summit facilitated discussions on emerging educational trends, including the integration of artificial intelligence (AI), the development of lifelong learning ecosystems, and strategies for enhancing the international outlook and research collaboration of HEIs.<\/p>\n
The Philippine delegation participated in panel discussions and networking sessions aimed at elevating the global recognition of Philippine universities. CHED\u2019s involvement as a primary sponsor of the summit supported its efforts to raise the global standing of Asian universities, in line with its vision for the Philippine higher education sector. ADDU\u2019s presence at the summit, as a QS-ranked institution in Region XI, represented Mindanao in the global higher education landscape.<\/p>\n
In addition to the summit, Dr. Manapol met with the Consulate General of the Republic of the Philippines in Macau, further strengthening our international ties. The meeting also explored potential collaborative initiatives with the university\u2019s partner, the University of Saint Joseph in Macau.<\/p>\n
Furthermore, ADDU\u2019s participation in the QS Higher Ed Summit enhances its global presence and supports the advancement of higher education through strategic internationalization.<\/p>\n
