From the success of the first International Study Visit (ISV) in Seoul and Busan, South Korea, the second cycle of the ISV reaffirms the Ateneo Internationalization for Mindanao (AIM) Office\u2019s commitment to offering transformative experiences for administrators, faculty, and staff. This initiative aligns with the University\u2019s mission to foster cultural understanding and appreciation while also promoting strategic partnerships with international institutions through knowledge sharing and exploration of academic and cultural collaborations.<\/p>\n
From 20 to 27 July 2024, the Ateneo de Davao University (ADDU) faculty and staff participated in an International Study Visit in Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam. The ISV is in collaboration with FPT University, our partner institution known for its innovative approach to education and its emphasis on producing graduates well-equipped for the fast-paced tech industry. This year\u2019s program was also carefully curated by FPT University, providing participants not only with insights into the academic environment but also opportunities to immerse themselves in the richness of Vietnamese culture and traditions.<\/p>\n
Activities included attending classes in the Vietnamese language, exploring the nation\u2019s culture through its films, and learning to play the traditional Dan Bau<\/em> (monochord) instrument. The exploration of Vietnamese culture extended beyond the classroom, with guided tours offering a deeper understanding of Vietnam’s history as an independent country. Participants visited the War Remnants Museum and Independence Palace, and explored the bustling Ben Thanh Market for souvenirs and further cultural exposure.<\/p>\n The ISV provided the ADDU delegates with valuable insights not only into Vietnamese culture and customs but also into practical approaches that could enhance their own careers and professional practices.
