The EU Whiz Team from the Ateneo de Davao University, comprising of 4th-year AB Political Science students: Jhoanna Grace Cayanan, Kim Alessandra Generalao, and French Bandong, with their coach Ms. Tetchie Aquino, finished strong as 2nd runner-up finalists in the recently concluded EU Whiz 2024 Championship held at SM Aura, Taguig City on 24 October 2024.<\/p>\n

The team from the University of San Carlos in Cebu emerged as the champions, and the team from the Ateneo de Manila University finished as the 1st Runner-Up.<\/p>\n

EU Whiz 2024, organized by the Delegation of the European Union, featured 32 universities across the country and included three elimination rounds beginning in August 2024.\u00a0 The competition covered thematic areas such as EU Member-States, All About EU, and The 60 Years of EU-Philippines\u2019 Diplomatic Relations. This year\u2019s EU Whiz especially commemorates the 60th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between the European Union and the Philippines.<\/p>\n

The EU Ambassador to the Philippines, H.E. Massimo Santoro, commended the students for “the passion and dedication they showed as they engage in the history, institutions of the European Union, and its shared values and culture with the Philippines.”<\/p>\n
